The Isle of the Eloquent is the seat of the Eloquent Intellects, a group of faerie who pursue truth through study, and continuously seek each others feedback to improve themselves and their world.
In terms of physical existence, it is an island temple. Half a ruin, its masonry is completely crumbled in some places, but the gardens and encroaching plant life seem well-tended and healthy. It is said that the temple repairs itself by degrees when there are faerie studying here, but will never restore itself to perfection. Sculpture, fountains, and beautiful glass windows adorn this place: the creations of the first faerie to build it, rare handiwork in a world of natural architecture. Some say it was a group of human garlangers escaping persecution, who missed the world they had been born into. Others assert that a power-grabbing Sidhe wanted to create a world from his own mind, rejecting the gifts of Fate. Whatever the story, it stood in new perfection for only a day before it began to deteriorate.
The island itself is much larger than seems possible (about 1 square mile) and surrounded by a magical bank of fog that prevents it from being seen from shore. The only way to reach the island is by the splendid boats of the EI, each of which boasts a spectacularly carved prow in the likeness of one of the Quixotic Kith. A faerie with pure intentions can call a boat to them, if they seek the island, or sometimes an unknowing faerie will stumble upon a boat when the island seeks them. But once a faerie has been cast out of the EI, they can never find their way back.
