Quixotic Kith
Fate has forbidden use of the magic and creatures of this kith for purposes of battle (not to be used in duels).
This is a second mantel and does not replace the current one. They also have a single individual of their mantel species bond with them for life (your bonded). This animal has above average intelligence that often approaches or surpasses your own. This animal has a separate personality and life-preserving instincts. This animal cannot be killed but will perish upon your death. The connection between a faerie and its Quixotic bonded is telepathic in nature. Bonded animals can also speak to each other telepathically while their faerie cannot.
Bargest (Dire Wolf)
These creatures are essentially black Siberian Huskies, but their fur is silky soft and they stand 4 feet tall at the shoulders. They can howl their own curse upon the wind and it will find its target's ears (anywhere in Alanor). This curse causes clumsiness, forgetfulness, and disorientation. They can also go for extended periods of time without rest, essentially running forever, and move with three times the normal speed of the average Siberian Husky.
Basilisk, Lesser
These creatures are essentially Anacondas with a scaly, spiny frill at the meeting of the head and the neck. They range between 20 and 25 feet long. Their teeth are razor sharp and known to deliver a venom that paralyzes its prey (Trance). This venom is magical in nature in that not only is there no known cure but a second bite will prevent any magical remedies as well.
Cerberus
These creatures are essentially American Pitbulls with three heads and stand 2 1/2 feet tall at the shoulders. Their eyes glow red and their tails are merely nubs. They have this uncanny ability to sniff out and dispell glamour magic. They can also concentrate on three different difficult tasks simultaneously (one per head).
Felinix
These creatures are Clouded Leopards with tufts on the ears like a Sand Cat. They are empathic, psychic, and telepathic. This means that they can read the nuances of emotion of anyone within range (on the same board), they can predict the immediate future (Clairvoyance level 3), and establish a telepathic connection with anyone. There have been legends of similar creatures that actually manipulate the future and time itself. These legends have never been confirmed.
Firelizard
These creatures are smaller versions of the Dragon (specifications fit Pern dragons). They are about the size of a Peregrine Falcon (no larger). Their tails range from 6 inches to 1 foot. Their wingspan is three times the length of their body (excluding tail). They come in few colors: black, white, sapphire, jade, and purple (monotone). Their eyes can change colors according to their moods. They can breath flames nearly two feet in length and hot enough to melt candle wax four inches thick upon contact.
Gryphon
These creatures have the body of a Lion (determines size restrictions) and the head and wings of a Golden Eagle. Their wingspan is three times the length of their body, excluding tail. They can carry the weight of a single rider. They can call upon the wind to do their bidding.
Pegasus
Nanrina, male, Bonded to Haley
These creatures are essentially Frisians with wings. They have a wingspan that is three times the length of their body. These wings are made black silky feathers. They have been known to tolerate riding gear only if handled by their faerie companion. They can carry no more additional weight than a single rider. These creatures have a unique ability. Darkness is more their ally than any faerie could hope to dream. They can assume what most simply call shadow form where their substantial body simply becomes an amorphous mass of unnatural shadow. They can envelope anything and create a vacuum. This causes sensory deprivation as well as a lack of air. Faerie enveloped will enter Trance upon their 2nd turn within the embrace of the Pegasus' shadow form.
Phoenix
These creatures have the physique of the Great Heron. Their flight feathers have whispy tendrils extending nearly a foot, giving them a very fragile appearance. The tail is usually fan shaped and about 2 to 3 feet long. The tail also sports the tendrils. The head sports a small crown. Most of these creatures are a myriad of orange to red to yellow hues. A very rare few are shades of blue and white. True to legend, this creature spontaneously combusts and rehatches every 5 years. However, legend does not mention its stunning intellect (genius) and uncanny ability to talk.
Unicorn
These creatures are essentially Andalusians with a spiral horn extending from the forehead. This horn tends to be ranging from six inches to 1 1/2 feet in length. This horn can heal upon touch equal to Restoration level 2.
Vouivre
These creatures are essentially 15 feet long Bismark Ringed Pythons with black leathery wings and a diamond set into the forehead. Their eyes are monotone but can be of any color. They have a 12 foot wingspan. They are unable to carry heavy burdens during flight but can manage smaller items. They possess little magic, but do have the ability to regulate flames or temperature within a 5 foot radius of any part of their body, explaining their tolerance of volcanic environments.
