Layout of the Land
Flora/Plants: Alanor is similar to (disregard any inconsistencies with established ecosystems) the New England area of the United States of America. Red spruce, white spruce, sugar maple, yellow birch, American sycamore, American beech, black birch and balsam firs populate the landscape in there iridescent beauty in the summer and spring, and with their fiery foliage in the fall. The forest floor is relatively bare save for the seedlings of the hardwood trees already inhabiting the area. The riverbanks, however, support several types of grasses and unknown species of shrubs, some poisonous while other’s benign. Recently, a crop of fruiting trees have been planted, including but not limited to pears, apples, guava, oranges, and plums.
Fauna/Animals: Save for roosters, there are no animal native to Alanor. Diversity in the biological community lies with the diversity of the faerie that inhabit the land. Only those species listed as mantels in the Scroll, whether from alive or dead fae, populate the Alanor. These species are numerous in amount and are wild just as the animals of the mortal realm; they have no affiliation with the faerie that has brought about their existence. However, once that faerie has been removed from the Scroll, that animal fades off and dies.
Religion: Alanor is the mother. She lives. The wind is her breath and the magic is her blood. Skylla is Fate, who holds sway over Alanor and the supremacy of the land. All Rituals and prayers must pass through Skylla’s ears before it can take place. Never before has a reasonable request not been granted. Just don't ask for a rocket launcher and expect to get it.
