Imbolc, the late winter festival marking the beginning of spring is a special time for the residents of Alanor. Though the courts themselves have enjoyed eternal warm and greenery, outside of the courts is a very different story. Snow had blanketed the scenery for quite some time, and the fauna that resides there has been largely, nonexistent. However, with the coming of spring, the season of rebirth, that is all about to change.
The Festival of Imbolc symbolizes the infusion of magic of into the sleeping land, the awakening of Alanor from its wintery slumber. It is a celebration that involves hearth fires, special foods (butter, milk and bannocks, for example) and the watching for omens.
The Festival of Imbolc is by no means affiliated with either court, and no matter which monarch organizes the gathering it is still largely the same. The main difference is which monarch is seated at the head of the main feasting table, as the monarch in charge of Imbolc is seated there.
Imbolc is held on neutral grounds, an area just beyond Exordium that though is part of the Mists, is largely well known.
A large tent to accommodate the masses who gather around the various forms of musical entertainment is set up in the midst of the campgrounds, and various drinks are offered by the rivaling taverns of each court.
The décor is largely of nature, with gardens of snow drops lining the festival grounds as well as magically lit candles.
Nearly all faerie dress in white to symbolize the healing of the land.
