The Unseelie Court presents an impressive entrance to the one who would seek it. It is located in the mountains roughly north/northeast of the Seelie Court. The cave floors have been smoothed and tiled seamlessly with green jade. The walls and domed ceilings are covered in quartzite crystal. Various impurities grant a myriad of colors to the colorless mineral. The largest and main cavern is the throne room. All compatriots of the darkling throng are assumed to be in this cavern unless otherwise indicated. Twisted columns, trees forced into unnatural growth by royal gardeners are hidden beneath the ground and illuminated by magical miniatures of the sun or moon, in whatever phase it may be, depending on whether it is night or day above ground. There are nearly twelve smaller caverns in the court; these are used as dormitories and places of business.
The throne is carved of green jade and centered in the main room. Rose vines and their glorious blooms are carved up each of the throne’s legs and spill onto the seat. The center is left smooth.
The resident magic of this domain are massive blood red rose vines. They have extremely sharp thorns and settle roots every two feet along each and every wall of the court. They obey the orders of the monarch only; whether by voice, thought, or gesture. They are immune to magical and physical influences.
Locations within the Unseelie:
The Royal Palace: The palace's entrance appears to be a menacing gate set into the mouth of a tunnel. The tunnel appears to be dark and dank, but once inside the palace sparkles with an unnatural beauty. A dark forest grown from magic is fill with knotted and twisting trees, blood washed flowers sprout from the ground and a cobble stone pathway leads to the throne. The palace is intricate, with many rooms and stairways crafted from natural stones leading to the upper chambers.
The Hall of Mortality: Beneath the throne room is the Hall of Mortality, a torture chamber where the most depraved acts of the Unseelie take place. Very few ever venture into the dungeons, but those who do will witness unimaginable horrors. Entirely decayed faerie still alive, moan for help as bloody masses that are still fae pulsate, unable to scream out in pain.
The Screaming Lass: Known to be a popular gathering place for Sidhe who enjoy mingling with the thinner blooded fae, many garlangers and elf struck fae congregate in this tavern. The Screaming Lass is made entirely of stone and within it are many statues depicting symbols of the Unseelie Court.
The Jade Door: An upscale eatery near the Unseelie Palace, the Jade Door is frequented mainly by members of the court.
The Baths: Deep in the belly of the caverns, practically the Underdark's ceiling, one may find the Unseelie Baths -- an ancient, hotspring-fed honeycomb of steaming mineral water, the inspiration behind the bath houses of ancient Rome. Tended at all times by garlanger, faerie of all types come here to enjoy a soothing -- or sensual -- soak. It is considered very odd by the Fae to bathe in anything but what Fate gave you.
