32 years ago- Dietrich decides to sit back and wait out the beginning of the war. The only thing he cared about was protecting his loot and he guarded his den fiercely. Eventually though, he realized that it was a foolish effort in that everyone was more intent on fighting each other and not plundering the rooms and dens within the Darkling Territories. To Dietrich it seemed sad that no one saw the profit or at least anyone that he knew. Oh well the more the merrier.
30 years ago- After deciding that plundering unguarded and unmanned rooms were boring, he turned his eyes completely on the war that rage so close to him and felt compelled to assist in some way. Quickly throwing out the idea of fighting, deciding that would be a foolish endeavor cause it would be harder to escape should the inevitable happen. It was then that he decided to join one of the infirmaries and assisting the injured. It wasn't perfect and he sure as heck didn't want to do it, but even he could see the problems that the unseelie could face should the sluagh win. Dietrich liked to consider himself a very neutral person, but he was not a heartless person to ignore the cries of the ones of his court in which he pledged his loyalty to (Stealing their belongings were merely their payments of his loyalty of course! At least that's what he tells himself.).
10 years ago- 20 years had passed since his decision to help out in the infirmaries and Dietrich could hardly believe it. Once he started, he became so absorbed into his work that time seemed to have flashed by in the blink of an eye. He said he wouldn't become involved in the war on help a little here and there, but after sewing people shut and relocating numerous times to protect the wounded and the medics Dietrich had somehow became involved. He wasn't perfect, but he almost enjoyed his work. Maybe somewhere deep down inside he had been looking for something more fulfilling, or maybe he ate too many magic mushrooms. Either way Dietrich actually did something other than raid dark sadistic men's underwear draws and he liked it.
5 years ago- When the Sluagh broke thorough the caves and into the palace, Dietrich knew they were about to be handed their derrieres on a silver platter. After warning others and moving the wounded under his care to a safer location, he took to the shadows and made himself scarce. He was no fool, there was a chance the Sluagh could apprehend those on the battle front- medic, wounded, and warrior alike, and who knew what they'd do to them then. However he knew there was also a chance that they wouldn't give a crap. He guessed it all depended on which side of the cot they woke up on that morning. Despite the fear of being kept prisoner and tortured again, he didn't stray far from the wounded that had been under his care. He kept watch despite himself.
3 years ago- Breathing a sigh of relief at the departure of the Sluagh, Dietrich couldn't help but feel relieved for the first time in years. He knew that things were far from perfect and knew that what little peace that had fell upon the unseelie could shatter so very easily, but he also knew that things were far from over and he intended to take what little peace came to him in these times of strife. Despite the claim to the throne being up for question, Dietrich decided to just step this one out. The only thing he wanted was a good and responsible leader- not just another figure head...and maybe a good strong drink.
1 years ago- After the excitement began to calm down, Dietrich realized he could return to his old lifestyle of thieving. However it didn't take him long to realize that his flare for theft had left him for the most part. After living beyond two thousand years (cause even he isn't sure how old he is) as a bandit, enjoying the thrill to the full and he suddenly just up and lost his drive to do so. Distraught over this revelation, Dietrich began to search what had changed. After thinking upon the matter long and hard, he realized he must have lost it somewhere along the way as a medic. Somewhere along the way stealing had become less important and mind consuming. He THEN realized that he stopped thinking of just himself along the way and began to think of others. Hoping that he wasn't turning into robin hood, Dietrich began to travel the unseelie court and mists in a type of 'soul search.' If his will to steal shiny things (even though he still obsessed over them) had left him, what took it's place? What was his place in the world now that he wasn't a compulsive thief? The war didn't just turn the unseelie court on it's head, but it seemed to have shoved Dietrich in a blender and hit puree.
It wasn't long after this that Dietrich set out and began to look into Drow rumors. No matter what he was, is, or will be Dietrich knew that the Drow spelled trouble and he would prevent another war at all cost. Even if it meant that he would have to draw a weapon and fight. Last resort of course.
((There I'm happy now. If I need to clear up anything I'll be happy to. If you want to be involved with my characters history just drop me a pm.^^))
