Cantrell moved deeper into the cavern and a heavy darkness enveloped him. Nothing could be seen, not even Marcus would distinquish his own body in the heavy darkness. Slowing his walking pace so not to bump into anything or plunge carelessly into a hole, he took a moment to try and assess his situation.
A voice, a low hissing sounded to his left. "Welcome to the Underdark garlanger..."

The precautionary measure the human had taken were not in vain. He had yet to fall to his death or impale himself on any sharp objects that might have protruded from the walls of the tunnels in the cavern. But the darkness was still unnerving. Cantrell had been in such darkness before on earth, but there was something different about this. It almost seemed to be alive to the human, each swish of the blade cutting aside layers of the darkness that quickly healed itself. But the human had no fear. Death was not an uncommon for him.
His ears picked up on hissing sounds that came from his left. Instantly he turned, weapon ready to confront whatever else lurked in these parts. But how did this thing know what Cantrell was? Obviously, should the other be hostile, Cantrell was at a disadvantage. The other could see in such darkness, the human could not. "I feel very welcome in this Underdark of yours," the human started, with a touch of sarcasm in his voice. "But since you know what I am, might I inquire what you are?"
