Nocticula smiled and stepped back. "It has been a pleasure. If you ever need anything, I roam these forests quite a bit." She turned and moved into the shadows of the forest, her form visible for some time after she had departed but eventually she disappeared.

Niobe stood, holding the orb. She could feel the charm pulsating in her hand, a strange electricity flowing through her. The sting of the orb was powerful enough to be considered disconcerting but not exactly painful. As Niobe held the orb she would notice something odd, her vision had changed slightly, the colors of the forest seemed less magnificent and the magic that flowed through late winter scene had appeared to have faded.

The world looked...mundane.

Niobe had not expected the discomfort that came with holding the orb, nor the distinct change in her eyesight. While there was something disconcerting about the effect, Niobe knew immediately that she had made her decision, and she would have to live with whatever consequences came with it. For now she merely watched as Nocticula vanished back into the forest. After the other was gone, Niobe shifted back to collect her cloak and tossed it over her shoulders. She pulled the hood up, once again obscuring her eyes back into shadow. The world. Mundane. An unsettled feeling purled through her stomach, but for the moment she decided to push it away. She would have plenty of time to ponder what everything meant once she was back in the safety of her hovel. An intense desire to see her mantel overwhelmed her, and there almost appeared to be a quickness to her step as she started back towards the Seelie court.
