Appearance: Fia’s blood is tainted to a point that she barely qualifies as a nimbus. It was once believed she was a human garlanger however, as the years wore on and she seemed to exhibit more nimbus-like qualities such as retaining her youthful appearance (as she doesn’t look a day older than when she first set foot in Alanor at 21), her bloodline was later revised to reflect the change. She can easily be mistaken as a human female save for the fact that, upon closer inspection, her eyes are a tricolor mix of chocolate, sepia, and auburn. Standing at 5’6”, she is shorter than the average nimbus.
Fia has the build of a martial artist: she is neither overly muscular nor particularly slim. Her body is honed to be a perfect balance of strength, flexibility, and speed that comes from relentless daily training. Despite her obvious dedication—or rather, her obsession with art of battle—Fia’s normal posture and body language reveals her to be a more impudent and whimsical fae.
She is proud of her relatively short copper streaked brown hair that she wears in a messy, unkempt fashion. Fia normally dresses in simple T-shirts, tank tops, and jeans.
Personality: The years have peeled away some of Fia’s impulsive naivety and tempered it into astute cunning. The discrepancy between her usual graceless attitude and her cold, calculating battlefield persona has lessened as she now can strike out with words that have the same controlled intensity as her fists. Though court politics means nothing to her, she is nevertheless well-informed and aware of them.
Fia remains as blunt, brash, and cheeky as when she first came to Alanor. While she has finally learned all the expected norms and traditions of the fae, the nimbus acts on none of them. She treats everyone with a sort of casual, playful indifference no matter what their rank is.
Despite her usual good-humor, Fia is still known for her unpredictable, explosive temper. Often, she is like a time bomb just waiting to explode into a flurry of wild emotions. Though less easily riled than she was before, her confrontational, prideful nature still causes her to butt heads with others from time-to-time.
History: Born in the human world, Fia knew nothing of the world of the faerie. She grew up on the mountains of southern Taiwan and was raised by a Daoist hermit known only as Lan Sifu. It was during a vacation in her the senior year of university that Fia became aware she wasn’t human. She and five of her other friends had rented a small fishing boat and were off the coast of Japan when one of her friends snapped, killing everyone on board. Fia had managed to stop her friend though the severity of her own wounds caused the nimbus to go into a Trance state. When she awoke, she found that she had been rescued by a patrol boat and that all her wounds had miraculously healed.
Unable to handle the trauma of the experience, she dropped out of university and returned to Taiwan. It was only then that Lan Sifu has revealed her faerie nature to her and pointed her to where Alanor lay. After months of deliberating (and improving her English), she found the Mounds and entered Alanor. Wanting to shed her former self, she changed her name to Fia.
The first few years of her stay had been rocky as she struggled to adapt to the new land and customs. As time went on, she became more and more acclimatized to Alanor until it became more a home to her than the human world. Though she has yet to shed her human characteristics entirely, Fia now considers herself more fae that human.
